Solar Battery Bank
Due to advancements in technology, the world is rapidly moving towards the Industrial Revolution which is beneficial to quite some extend but on the other hand, it is also causing damage to the environment by depleting the ozone layer which is contributing to the emission of greenhouse gases (Global Warming). Due to which the world is trying to adopt ways that involve naturally occurring resources (renewables). Taking about our country Pakistan which has some highest values of insolation in the world, with eight to nine hours of sunshine per day, ideal climatic conditions for solar power generation. However, the country has been slow to adopt the technology.
Being an undergraduate student, I have realized how important is to keep our cell phones charged all the time as most of the work done is through our mobile phones whether it be the class updates shared by the CR on the WhatsApp group or to visit our emails every now and then. We cant carry chargers all the time to keeps our phones charged also we don’t have a socket everywhere and this is where it gets difficult to manage. At this point, the role of an electrical engineer comes into the picture and I planned to work on something that makes it easy for students like us to keep our cell phones charged all the time and not just the students but other people as well.
Importance:
In order to realize its impact or importance in real-time, I reached out to people to get their concerns over this issue.
In conversation with Saad and Haris, final year students at NEDUET said: “ Most of the university-related documents are shared over the mobile phones either through emails or WhatsApp which is quite a problem for us as the mobile phone consumes battery rapidly. Even if we bring the chargers then also it becomes difficult to find a spot to charge our phones. ”
Not only the students are facing this problem but my neighbor Afshan Aunty is also a part of the same problem. She said: “ I am a frequent traveler beta and most of the ticket and work-related things are on my mobile phone and it becomes difficult to charge my phone for a long time. ”
Solution To This Problem:
After analyzing the situation I came up with the following points:
A device that stores energy from the sun and later converts it into electricity to power electronic gadgets (mostly mobile phones). The idea behind the concept is to make portable devices so that they may be portable enough to fit inside their bags (big or small) or even pockets. A power bank that is powered by means of solar is of high power and can last for several days. How is that possible? All you have to do is to keep the power bank in the daylight (to recover its power).
It not only solves the problem of the people traveling or studying but it's also eco-friendly (beneficial for our environment).
